Premier Cru
VOSNE-ROMANÉE
Cuvée de l’Orme
Vintages produced : 2022 - 2023
A vermeil wine with a fiery red colour, sometimes even garnet, tending towards dark purple with flashes of ruby.
The spices enhance the fruit and form a bouquet of mellow aromas. Fresh fruit in its youth, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry or blackcurrant, this complex, refined nose evolves with age towards cherry in brandy, candied fruit or leather.
On the palate, velvet and distinction almost evoke the fullness of a grand cru. A wine for laying down, of course, balancing richness and tannins, texture and architecture under a lively attack. Although it may seem austere when young, Vosne-Romanée es Beaux Monts will develop its structure and fatness in bottle, making it full-bodied and voluptuous after a few years.
With its powerful yet velvety tannins, this opulent, spicy Premier Cru prefers strong, well-defined meat, which it can tame and envelop. Beautiful roast poultry, patiently oven-roasted lamb and roast game birds will be its favourites. But a slab of beef that is lean and firm on the palate will find a round response.
The appellation lies on either side of the Grands Crus Richebourg and Grands Échezeaux, sometimes extending the latter at the same altitude.
