CHAMBERTIN CLOS DE BÈZE

Cuvée du Frêne Vintages produced : 2016 - 2017 - 2018 - 2019 - 2020 - 2021 - 2022 - 2023 Situated above the Route des Grands Crus, mid-slope at an altitude of between 240 and 280 metres, as an extension of the famous Chambertin, the climat of Chambertin-Clos de Bèze forms a link between Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin. With its dark ruby colour, Chambertin Clos de Bèze calls for concentration. Its aromas are not to be outdone, suggesting black fruit as well as old rose, violet and, of course, liquorice. Spicy on the palate, it is full and opulent, yet elegant and complex. Comforting on the attack, then chiselled, this grand cru goes straight to the essentials: stripped of anything superfluous, it is lively and invigorating in the brilliance of its acidulous flavours. It will soften with age. A great wine for laying down. The Chambertin Clos de Bèze is an ideal partner for prime rib, with its powerful, long-lasting aromas.
