Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru ‘En Ergot’ is a premier cru red wine from the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. Made from the ‘En Ergot’ climat, formerly part of the Capita premier cru, this terroir produces a generous, elegant wine with great freshness. Its rich aromatic palette of morello cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant, sweet and peppery spices, moss and, after aeration, notes of liquorice, musk and old rose make this Premier Cru a great gastronomic wine. The richness and mellowness of the fruit satisfy the palate in beautiful harmony, underpinned by noble tannins and impeccable freshness to ensure a suave pleasure. The finish is particularly long and delicious, with liquorice and spicy notes. A perfect accompaniment to roast game birds and stewed red meats of character.
